Clermont Crocs Player Helps Power NCAA Basketball Coverage with TxODDS
Clermont, FL — When Djordje Nikolic takes to the court for the Clermont Crocs, he brings the same focus and intensity to another role off it, working as an in-stadia scout for TxODDS, covering live NCAA college basketball games across Florida.
Nikolic, who covers the University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University for TxODDS, combines his professional playing background with real-time sports data operations, helping capture the live moments that underpin modern basketball analysis and betting markets.
“For me, playing and scouting actually complement each other really well,” said Nikolic. “I’m constantly watching basketball because I love the game and because it helps me improve as a player. Being part of the Clermont Crocs keeps me connected to what’s happening on the court, while working with TxODDS lets me apply that same basketball knowledge off the court in the college game. It’s one ecosystem, just seen from two different angles.”
Performing under pressure — on and off the court
As a current player, Nikolic says the pressure of live performance has helped shape his approach to scouting.
“Basketball is a mindset,” he explained. “Pressure, expectations and performance are part of everyday life as a player. That translates directly into scouting. NCAA games move fast, crowds are loud, emotions run high but those environments feel familiar to me. It helps me stay composed and focused while entering accurate data in real time.”
Nikolic highlights that the biggest challenge in live scouting is balancing speed and accuracy during intense moments of play. A challenge he feels well-prepared for due to his playing background.
A partnership built from the ground up
Beyond his dual role, Nikolic also played a key part in introducing TxODDS to the Clermont Crocs, helping bring the two organisations together in a new sponsorship partnership.
“For me, this partnership represents initiative and belief,” Nikolic said. “I knew the level of professionalism and potential within the Crocs organisation, and I believed TxODDS would be a natural fit. It felt like the right bridge between two organisations that can elevate each other.’’
From Serbia to Florida
Originally from Serbia, Nikolic played professional basketball overseas, studied in Spain, and earned his master’s degree before settling in the United States. Florida is now home — and he’s quick to name his favourite local perk.
“Florida in the winter,” he laughed. “That’s hard to beat.”
