Our only winner on Sunday at Leopardstown was La Bague Au Roi, advised at 2/1. She did it in great style and Kaiser Black was the one to take out of the race in 2nd. He looks a proper horse and it will be interesting to see where he goes next. Aramon was an unlucky loser, while Hidden Dilemma simply wasn’t good enough. Dave Stevos is back in action with another selection this Thursday and you can check his Meydan racing tip below.
Meydan racing Tip: 6.00 7f Handicap (95-105)
The closing race on a superb card at Meydan on Thursday is a 95-105 handicap over 7f. 14 horses go to post, but thankfully a few bookies are paying out on 4 places each way. Godolphin fire three bullets at the race and in Meydan, they are always difficult to beat. New recruit Mubtasim looks an interesting runner, while Race Day ran well here last time.
They are all single figure prices though, and one that appeals at bigger odds is Amazour. Ismael Mohammed is no stranger to success at Meydan and this fella shaped well last time on his first run at the track (7f gd). He was never in a good position that day, breaking a shade slowly and racing in rear throughout. When they turned in he started to make ground up the inside, but Fabrice Veron had to switch him to get a clear run.
When he found daylight he kept on very well, and while he finished 7th he was only a neck behind Victory Wave and 0.75L off 4th. Ben Curtis takes over in the plate and has won on him before. Amazour should improve for the run, and if he starts on level terms he is capable of reversing form with Victory Wave. Odds of 20/1 look too big and at that price he is well worth chancing each way (4 Places).
MEYDAN RACING TIP: 6.00pm – AMAZOUR E/W @ 20/1 4 PLACES
